About

Hi, I’m Alfuja Akter, founder of Tools Informer.

Alfuza Akter

I started Tools Informer because finding honest tool reviews should not be this hard.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed trying to choose the right tool, or bought something online only to realize it was too heavy, too weak, or just wrong for your project, you are not alone. That is exactly where I was before I started researching tools carefully, comparing real user feedback, and testing tools whenever possible.

My Story

A few years ago, I decided to hang some shelves in my living room. Simple project, right?

I spent hours reading reviews online, watched several YouTube videos, and finally ordered what looked like a highly rated cordless drill. When it arrived, I was excited. I unboxed it, charged the battery, and picked it up.

It was heavy. Really heavy.

My wrist started aching after just a few minutes. The trigger felt stiff, the bit kept slipping, and by the time I finally got one shelf up, it was crooked. I was completely frustrated.

I returned the drill and started over. This time I did deeper research. I compared weights, read real user complaints, checked grip comfort, looked at battery life, and paid closer attention to what actual DIYers were saying.

Eventually, I found the right drill. The shelves went up properly, and the whole project felt easier.

That experience stayed with me.

I kept thinking: why was it so hard to find straightforward, honest information? Why did so many reviews sound like they were written by someone who had never actually used the tool for a real home project?

That is when I decided to start Tools Informer.

What I Do at Tools Informer

I am a 32-year-old DIY enthusiast who has always loved working with my hands, from hanging shelves and assembling furniture to fixing things around the house and tackling weekend home improvement projects.

At Tools Informer, I research, evaluate, and review power tools across major categories, including:

  • Cordless drills
  • Impact drivers
  • Nail guns
  • Power saws
  • Sanders
  • Grinders
  • Oscillating tools
  • Woodworking tools
  • Tool storage
  • Accessories

My goal is simple: help you choose the right tool for your project, budget, and comfort level.

How I Review Tools

Before recommending any tool, I look at the things that matter in real use, not just the biggest number on the box.

I consider:

  • Weight and comfort
  • Grip size and control
  • Power and speed
  • Battery life
  • Ease of use
  • Build quality
  • Included accessories
  • Tool-only vs kit value
  • Real buyer complaints
  • Best use case
  • Value for money

I also compare tools by user type. A beginner, homeowner, senior, DIYer, and professional contractor may all need different things from the same tool category.

Whenever possible, I include hands-on experience, real project use, and practical research. When I have not personally tested a tool, I make recommendations based on careful product research, manufacturer specs, verified buyer feedback, and comparison with similar tools.

Who I Write For

Tools Informer is written for real people doing real projects.

That includes:

  • Beginners buying their first power tool
  • Homeowners tackling simple repairs
  • DIYers working on weekend projects
  • Women looking for lightweight, comfortable tools
  • Seniors who want easy-to-control options
  • Professionals who need jobsite-ready performance
  • Anyone who wants honest advice without confusing jargon

You do not need to be a contractor to choose a good tool. You just need clear information.

Why Trust Tools Informer?

I do not accept payment to recommend tools. I do not write fake reviews. I do not recommend a product just because it has a big brand name.

Every recommendation is based on research, product fit, value, and who the tool is actually best for.

If a tool is too heavy for beginners, I say so. If a budget option is good only for light work, I make that clear. If a popular product has real weaknesses, I include them.

Tools Informer may earn a commission from some links at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site running, but it does not influence my recommendations.

My Promise to You

Every review on Tools Informer is written with one question in mind:

Would I recommend this tool to a friend or family member?

If the answer is no, I say so.

If a tool has real weaknesses, I tell you. If there is a better option for your budget, hand size, project type, or experience level, I point you toward it.

That is the Tools Informer promise.
